How to make one

3D and cinematic map animation in four steps.

  1. 01

    Choose the view

Switch the projection to globe for Earth shots, or stay flat and tilt the camera for a 3D perspective.

  2. 02

    Add depth

Turn on terrain relief for mountains and valleys, 3D buildings for city scenes, or satellite imagery.

  3. 03

    Direct the camera

Pick a move under Animation → Motion (Fly in, Push in, Pull back, Orbit, Drift, Follow), press Auto-fix to let the Camera Director plan the shots, or set keyframes yourself.

  4. 04

    Export the video

MP4 in 16:9, 9:16, square or 4:5. Longer and globe scenes use two export credits.

What you control

Every part of it is editable.

  • Globe view

A spinning 3D Earth for openers, global networks and fly-ins to any country or city.

  • Terrain relief

Mountains and valleys shaded in relief, on satellite or any other basemap.

  • 3D buildings

Extruded city buildings for walking tours, real-estate and urban scenes.

  • 3D plane

A plane model that flies along flight routes while the camera follows it.

  • Cinematic camera moves

Hold, Fly in, Push in, Pull back, Orbit, Drift and Follow — one click each, all editable.

  • Auto-fix camera

The Camera Director plans the whole camera so each part of the story gets its own shot.

  • Camera keyframes

Zoom, pitch and bearing on a timeline, with smooth easing between shots.

  • Same frame everywhere

What you see in the preview is what you get in the exported video, at every size.

FAQ

Questions

How do I make a 3D Earth zoom animation?
Open the studio, switch the projection to globe, add a camera keyframe on the whole Earth and another on your place, and export. The Where in the World? template does exactly this.
Can I show mountains in 3D?
Yes. Turn on terrain relief in the map style settings, tilt the camera, and pair it with the satellite basemap for a flyover look.
Does it have 3D buildings?
Yes. 3D buildings can be turned on for city scenes; the Midtown Walk template uses them.
Do globe videos cost more to export?
Globe scenes and videos longer than 16 seconds use 2 export credits instead of 1. The studio shows the cost before you export.
Is it free?
You can build, preview and export 3 videos a month at 720p with a small badge for free. Paid plans add HD export without the badge and more exports.
