How to add labels, callouts and text to a map video
A map tells the story only when the viewer knows what they are looking at. Add a title, label the places with callouts and flags, put a number on screen, and time each one to appear when the story reaches it.

Step by step
- 1
Start with a scene
Open AYK Maps with your route or regions, or a template. You can also ask in AI agent: “add a callout with the country flag at each city, small title”.
- 2
Add a title
In the Overlays group, switch on the title card and type a title and subtitle that say what the map shows.
- 3
Label places with callouts
Right-click a stop and choose Add a callout on this stop. Pick a Callout style: Stem card, Leader, Numbered, Pill, Stat, Badge, Circle, Quote, Arrow or Flag.
- 4
Add country flags
In the callout, set Country flag to the suggested country (or pick any country), or use the Flag callout style.
- 5
Put a number on screen
Add a stat card and choose Stop count, Number, Bar chart or Trend line, with a caption and unit — for example “+6,110 km”.
- 6
Add free text or an image
In Text & Images, click Text and style it: Sans, Display, Serif, Mono or Hand font; size, colour, outline, shadow and rotation; a Box or Pill background. Use Upload image for a logo or photo.
- 7
Time it to the story
Set Callout timing to In order so each label appears as the route reaches it, choose an entrance (Rise, Fade, Wipe or Instant), and drag bars on the timeline to fine-tune. Then Export → Video.
Tips
- Fewer, bigger labels read better on phones; one callout per place is enough.
- Free text is sized as a share of the frame, so it looks the same in the preview and in a 720p or 1080p export.
- Drag title, stat and legend cards to any position on the frame.
